I Won Granny Over

I married into a Jewish family, although I am not Jewish. My in-laws love me, and I think it is partly because of a decision I made early in my marriage. My wife and I married young, right before college, so when we were deciding where to go to school, I insisted on going somewhere that offered kosher culinary classes. I wanted to be able to cook for my wife and her family. I didn’t care what I ate, still don’t for that matter, but I wanted to show my wife that I supported her religion and lifestyle. Her granny didn’t like me at first, but when I cooked for her the first time, I won her over, and the rest of the family followed suit. I think it was my decision to support their way of lifestyle that did it.
