My boss has been looking at ways of making the business more effective can cutting costs and he reckons that one of the best ways will be make sure that shop floor staff are making the best use of their time and materials. The problem he said was that we did not have proper electronic data management for the shop floor and that meant we could not get proper control. So he’s off scanning the web to see what companies are out there and that can help us with this problem. No doubt he’ll pass it over to me soon, but in the meantime I’m keeping my head down.
