Most people who go into the work force look forward to quickly moving up from their first job.  They can’t wait to leave the basics behind and begin swimming with the sharks.

I’m not one of those people.  Even though I know it’s necessary to move beyond entry level jobs, my memories of those first starter jobs always make me smile.  I loved the feeling that I was learning something new every day, and I enjoyed making new friends.

The first year or so with any company is usually spent getting to know the company policy, people, culture, even where the breakroom is.  Most employees become comfortable, they take all that “newness” for granted.  I never did – it’s still my favorite thing.
