Individuals who suffer from asthma are most likely to get acid reflux more often. What is asthma? It is a chronic health condition in which the airways of the lungs become inflamed and sensitive. They over react to certain stimuli. Animal dander, pollen, cigarette smoke, cold air, certain smells and even strong emotions can set of an asthmatic attack. Extra mucus is formed in the lining of the airways and individuals experience increased coughing, wheezing, chest tightness, shortness of breath or rapid breathing.
