I have a friend who insists that she wants to move into a nursing home when she retires. She visits an elderly care bucks county home every week, and she has already made friends with a lot of the residents. The last time she was there, she picked out her room and told the nurses to save it for her. They laughed, but I think she was completely serious. Her husband died years ago, so she has been alone a long time. I think she is lonely and likes the idea of being surrounded by friends every day. I’m sure that being taken care of doesn’t sound bad, either.
