The idea of having a chicken coop has never crossed my mind.  I always thought of chickens as dirty, noisy, and unpleasant looking.  However, my mind quickly changed when my 10 year-old son Charlie came home on a mission.  He had just learned that day on the care of chickens and all the benefits of having your own.  After much discussion, his father and I conceded and felt that this would be a learning experience for the entire family.  We went online and found many easy chicken coop plans.  Charlie picked out one that was easy to assemble, and within weeks we were enjoying our own fresh eggs.  What a great experience!
