As strange as it may sound, I have recently developed an interest in recreational tree climbing.  A close friend of mine had been on several tree climbing outings and sparked my interest.  I have been told that before I schedule a trip, the first thing I need to do is purchase certain safety equipment.  Apparently the most important equipment is Tree Climbing Spikes.  They come in several sizes depending on the type of climbing and due to the fact that I am a beginner, I will need to find longer spikes.  These are made for thicker tree bark and recommended for any beginner.
