I felt lucky to be able to understand how to use my computer, let alone work with my data.  That is probably the reason I ignored my brother when he tried to explain that I should back up my files and install a good data recovery software.  Instead I used my new computer to work on several important school projects but did not bother with a backup plan.  Then I accidentally deleted an important file and panicked.  My brother showed me how to recover deleted files using a product I bought online.  Once I had my files back, I took the time to learn everything I could about protecting information.
